She's go a Jellyfish Hat!!  by Holly Ervin

I have no idea where this came from.  I just chose a color palette and went to paintin'  Also, I've been looking at a lot of jellyfish lately.  'Cause why not, right?

I think I'm just playing around with textures on this one.  Meh.

Octo-Eel Mermad!

Drawlloween Challenge Day 3: Tentacle Tuesday.

This is totally my favorite so far.  You know how I love mermaids!

Golden Mermaid

A golden mermaid...because I like mermaids.

Philyra

Meet Philyra.  Her friends call her Lyra and no one calls her Phil.  She's a mermaid who grew up in the tropical parts of the Pacific Ocean.  She's a shapeshifter and she loves to sing at the very top of her lungs, which works out since she has a damn-near hypnotizing voice.  She's a character I've made up in order to try out different styles, so you'll see her again.

Arctic Mermaid

I'm married to this wonderful man who bought me a Surface Pro 4 (what?!?) for Valentine's!!  I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a drawing tablet and has the money to spend.  I did this with Manga Studio 5 in less than 24 hours and it was a blast!!  I'm sure there will be more interesting things happening from here one out.  ::squeal::

Orca Mermaid

I drawed another mermaid, y'all!  Aside from using a hand reference, this came out of my brain.  I can't wait to paint her.  I'm thinking white hair like Ursula, but we'll see.

Triggerfish Mermaid

So, I looked up the date that I added this sketch to the computer...it was almost exactly 6 years ago.  While I don't know that this is an "I've been working on this for six years" piece, I did decide it was finally time to call it done.
